The story itself isn't funny, but one of the comments is:

In my day, cops used to laugh about the then-popular tennis shoes that had lights in the heels that lit up. They called them 'felony flyers' and it made juvenile suspects rather easy to chase in the dark. Now it's baggy britches - the height of fashion but the depths of stupidity. Yes, you can run fast from the police with your pants around your ankles. Stupid crooks, thank you for your vanity.

CINNAMINSON, N.J. - Police in South Jersey are investigating the assault and attempted robbery of a SugarHouse Casino patron who was apparently followed home and attacked early Saturday morning.
...
One male yelled at the other to "pop him, pop him," the victim told police, but when one of them attempted to hit him again with the butt of a gun, the victim wrestled his assailant to the ground. Then, according to the victim, the other male tripped over his baggy pants and fell, too.
