I should be in Austin TX from the 23rd-26th. Anyone in the area want to do lunch or meet for coffee, let me know. I'll have limited net access on either end of the trip as we're driving both ways (proof I'm insane)

yes, insane....
But at least you can leave your lead undies at the house...

Bob,
It's really [expletive deleted] hot in Texas right now. Supposed to be 107, in Houston tomorrow. Be prepared.

Is this part of your open a business in Texas plan?

Enjoy the trip,
Rick

In part. Scouting things out, looking at the job market, rechecking on housing.

Then there's the hurricane about to hit NY. I figure, if it follows me, Texas will get some much needed water. :D

Ahh a humanitarian trip/mission :)

That and I'm down to my last can of real Dr. Pepper, so we're thinking of swinging by Dublin TX for the Real Stuff.

If you have time & like sushi... go to Nanami. I know the sushi chef there. He's young, but apparently is taking the place by storm.

Always giving of himself!

I will let my friends in Texas know to write you a thank-you note should the rain arrive! :D

There's a grocery store near my house that usually has the real sugar Dr. Pepper.

Please bring the rain with you. We definitely need it.

Real Dr Pepper has been in Walmart all summer here in Ga as well as real Mountain Dew. But cans only... no plastic or 2 litres.

You pass through my area and want to take a break, give me a shout. You've got my numbers!

we will be in austin until the morning of the 3rd. hit a exploded truck tire on the way in. I hate Arkansaw. did some damage to the car, but we're ok. just have to button things up and get it looked at when we get home. nothings leaking so we're lucky.

3,600 miles later, we're back in "Beautiful" Buffalo NY.

This was me on the last day in Austin

We spent Wed in downtown Austin (duck boat was fun), Thursday in the Marble Falls area, and Friday in San Antonio. Sunday We spent in Louisville KY and just got in about 30 minutes ago. Now downloading about 3,000 emails (ugh).

TX gave me a nice parting gift as a nice trooper decided that a Prius with NY plates was speeding while cars with TX plates that were flying past the Prius weren't. Yay. -_- So, the revenue dip + repairs to the car cancel out the savings from driving over flying. bah humbug n all that. Other than those 2 incidents, was a nice trip, and got to see a lot more of the area than last time.
