Does anyone remember in the mid-90's when the UFC came out with the UFC Association? Anyone could join it and they would give out rank in the UFC Federation. It went from Level 1 to Level 10 fighter and it was based on time training and how many fights from sanctioned tournaments.
It didn't catch on, but I noticed that the ads for it were in the back of Black Belt magazine and they never really made a big fuss about it.
I googled it, but can't find any info on what happened to it.
