sorry to do this but i need to rage and storm somehow.

So as some of you may know i have some trouble with my knees. well ive took time off, done some PT and they have gotten better. My kicks got higher and I had more power in them and recently Ive actually been able to run without any pain at all. Well since saturday Ive been unable to use my left leg. it hurts to bend it, walk on it or even stand on it really. I drive an manual and thats a pain in the *** right there. WTF? I would be so mad if i knew what i did like before, but seriously no clue, none at all. one minute i was fine next thing i know im limping. Im guessing i did it on the stationary bike. One second i was fine, just warming up next second im limping away. this is getting really old and im getting very pissed.

whew that feels better.

sorry to waste the space it can be deleted if the mods feel the need

Go see your doctor.

This could be something as simple as having "overdone it," maybe "tweaked it slightly," or something more serious.

Sorry to hear about your leg. I had a similar issue where a bulging disk in my back caused extreme calf and hamstring pain in my right leg, and I could not train for a while. Please consult an orthopedic doctor if you have not already. I wasted 2 weeks going to a general practice physician before I got proper disagnosis and care from a specialist.

Personally, I dislike it when people tell me to see a doctor, as if I need a mother! But I do want to second the sentiment to see a specialist and encourage you to keep seeking until you find a doctor who can help you.

I endured lots of neck pain for years b/c it wasn't that bad and my sports specialist DO PCP didn't have an answer for me (outside of painkillers, of course-LOL!). When I finally decided to do something, I saw a few docs and finally a chiropractor who gave me some treatments for the short-term and exercises for the long term. The best doc is the one you need for only a short time. That man gave me the solution to the underlying problem and I am so grateful!

Anyway, forgive me for my doctor answer. I swore to myself I'd never say it! LOL. Never say never!

I hope your rant helped you. Sometimes I just have to rant, too. :)

Im going to make an appointment this week. Ive been once and everything was negative but I believe i may have fallen into that 5% column where the MRI's are wrong

Good luck! here's hoping for the best. I can relate, though. I have had problems with my lower back and thought I was pretty much past it. I had been pain free for about a year. Well, a couple of months ago I threw it out again and it's been slow to heal. Very depressing. :( I'm on the mend now, as I hope you will be.

That sucks.... I'm so sorry this happened. Here's hoping it's something that can be improved, rather than otherwise.

ive got an appointment for the 16th so we will see what the doc thinks it will be but i wont know for sure until after I have an MRI and get the results back

If one doctor can't find the problem switch doctors until you find one who does. I started a few years ago with severe pain in my feet and ankles especially in the morning it was accompanied with a lot of swelling my doctor sent me for some tests but couldn't figure it out he had me on diuretics because he said I was retaining water. I switched doctors and the new one sent me to a rheumatologist turns out I have psoriatic arthritis. Funny the immune system suppressants work much better than the diuretics.

Kempoguy,

How old are you? I've had the exact same problem. And I have compeletly stopped kicking for 2 weeks now and I feel so much better.

I suspect your returning pain is part of the healing process (I've had it do that to.) So much as been dammaged that it will take a while to heal.

Right now in my left leg, near the hip, I have a stinging pain, kind of sharp, at the back, and if I sit for a while it starts hurting, but if I lay on the sofa it goes away.

So here is what I'm doing now. I work on other areas I need to improve on. I do lots of weight lifting, blocking, puncing, and footwork exercises at the gym. I practice gun handling and I shoot on the weekends. I also walk up staris alot.

It will take months for all this to go away, then...back to kicking!

well the doctor said that it appears (from the outside) to not be a tear or strain since i have no exterior swelling. she did say that the tendon that stretches across the front of the knee cap is swollen and gritting indicating tendinitis, also i have a condition where the cartilage behind my knee cap is not smooth and repeated motions where my knee goes past 90 degree causes it to flair up and unfortunately surgery can not fix it. Also i had blood work done to rule out RA. so thats all i know for know
