Here's your chance to start the new year with a plan:
Here's mine:

(1) I going to up my cardio, someway, somehow 30 min. x 3/week

(2) Learn new stuff via tapes, books, etc.

(3) Diet again, sigh! At least ten lbs. again

Try for just three...its doable. TW

Good topic,TW!

1. Finally go downtown(Chicago) to check out a couple Dojo I have my eye on,if I like one,go at least twice a week. While still studying Hapkido.

2. Get to Korea!

3. Do the best I can with my newfound responsibility. I was asked to teach on Tuesday nights....alone....

Ah. #3. Teaching is like getting used to the taste of fine wine...it gets better with age. Old adage but true. Everyone has their "style" of teaching and soon you will find yours. Have fun...it is fun! I teach my passion in hopes they find theirs-enthusiasm catches! TW

There's a good chance I will be moving early in 2005, so...

1.) Find a new martial arts instructor to train with, if I am unable to continue with my current one,

1.5) Continue to train my TKD-taught skills,

2.) Increase my amount of aerobic exercise (not necessarily with martial arts),

3.) Get back into lifting weights and doing sit-ups.

Nice thread. I'll play.

1. Get to Thailand for some home made Muay Thai

2. Make it into my first ring bout in the condition I know I can acheive.

3. Try on a new weight regime with an open mind and intentyion of it being a permanent edition.

4. Pick up another tcma.

Here goes:

1. Diet again loose 15-25 lbs.
2. Try to be more understanding with the family and friends
3. Be more aggressive with seeing more seminars for learning .

1: More conditioning with the makiwara board

2: Continue to further my knowledge of kata and its bunkai

3: Continue to fight the life lone inner battle

And more will pop up I am sure

I normally hate new years resolutions because I know few who keep them. I will make some lifestyle changes however....

I started a new business and a nutrition regeme this past year and I want to make both of them even more productive this year than they have been.

I also will be increasing my skill in jeem leem or fighting and although I usually dont compete I will compete in April in Chi Sau.

I will also take time to "stop and smell the roses" this year. I will do some traveling and spend alot of time with my beautiful wife.

Mine are kind of simple, and I'm starting them early.

1) Find a new instructor, as mine has moved away.

2) Get back into training consistently. Hoping to start back at a Muay Thai school to get back into shape.

3) Try to lose some weight. Being down and out from an injury has gotten me some extra bulk and a distinct lack of motivation. heh. Time to get back in the saddle!! :uhyeah:

Ahh the new year is coming already...how quick the time goes. As far as a training resolution I am going to:

1. Add on some more cardio work to improve my endurance.

2. Get certified as an assistant instructor

3. Focus on improving my technique and not rely on just my strength when I grapple.

i as well will play.
1) keep the curent training schedual going 4-5 days/week
2) keep a focus on what is really important, school, family, etc. (I havea bad habit of appearing at the dojo on test nights..)
3) get back into tournaments

In the coming year, I want to:

Avoid negative speaking/thinking--This is a family tradition that I do _not_ want to continue

Test for my black belt--In October

Start mountain biking again--I've been on hiatus for the most part since having my daughter in 2002.

"Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think.."

1) Become more compassionate with my step-children

2) Workout more than required

3) Maintain smoking and alcohol cessation regimen

1. Do more cardio work. I need to drop a few pounds and improve my aerobic fitness.
2. Train 5 or 6 days a week.
3. Don't start drinking again.
4. Get my black belt!

1) Strengthen my upper body endurance
2) Increase my understanding and application of CMA
3) Get my first dan in kendo

1. Stay away from Shesulsa's Brownie recipe :(

2. Try another "art"

3. Meet some of the wonderful people here on MTalk. Anyone wanta house guest? :D
