01-11-2010 12:21 AM:In his last bout, former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber broke one hands and dislocated the other. In front of a hometown crowd in Sacramento, Faber showed his hands were just fine, winning decisively with a third-round rear-naked choke of Raphael Assuncao.
Assuncao had a strong first round, but Faber came roaring back in the second round. He was effective with strikes and on the ground. In the third, Faber smothered Assuncao, landing strikes and elbows from the top position. Assuncao gave up his back, and Faber took full advantage, locking in a tight rear-naked choke.
With this win, Faber is likely to get a shot at Jose Aldo the featherweight title. Aldo came into the cage and told Faber and the crowd, "I respect Urijah, but no one is going to take my belt." Faber's response was simple and direct.
"In my mind, that's always been my belt."
