Maybe. Mu shin (no-mind) is Wu Xin in Chinese, but the above not-forcing is Wu Wei, which is not-doing. But they are related.


Ah I see. After reading more about Daoist philosophy today apparently there are two types of wuwei.

So there's "no (effort in) action" and there's also "no (action in) effort", which I find interesting. Apparently this developed as a way for emperors to harmoniously control subjects through effort without action (authority), but act effortlessly when needed (power).
