Darpa Developing a Device That Stops Internal Bleeding Using Ultrasounds
They're developing it for use in combat, but like many military innovations (internet, anyone?) it has civilian applications. They expect to have a prototype in 18 months. How long before paramedics are equipped with these?
DARPAs latest project is called DBAC, or Deep Bleeder Acoustic Coagulation, and it consists of a device which stops internal bleeding almost instantaneously.
