Long time ago I read an article, I think it was in 'Black Belt' magazine, but I'm not sure.
There was this man, caucasian I think, who had a bad back (lower dammaged spine) and could not kick above the knees. Yet he went on to win the top Japanese tournaments in sparring.
Does anyone know who I'm talking about? It was so long ago I don't remember his name.
I do remember he fought so well with his hands the Japanese judges said that while he won, the other guy was a better technician. And to that he replied, 'if I had a rock in my hand the other guy would be dead."
Thanks,
Deaf
