What is your TKD?

Moo Sul Kwan Tae Kwon Do is hard core and traditional. My schools location is ran by the Grand Master and President of the organization.

So just for my green belt test I had to do:
Chong Ji, Dan Gun and Do San.
Tae Guek: Il, EE, and Sam Jang.
9 One step sparring
six basic moves
followed by combination moves across the room.

That is not too flabby of a cirriculum.

my tkd involves meditating, full contact sparring, push ups, sit ups, drills, kicks, stretching while instructor stands on ur legs or pushes down on ur back. i love a good hard training in tkd. i love being in class sweating and fighting.

Even though one time my grandmaster said he teaches Olympic style ( He was a referee during the 1988 Olympics, If I got the year right, so thats probably why!..lol ) He does not seem to teach it that way. Just as much attention is paid to hand work like punching, strikes & blocks, even combinations adding kicks to it. Its probably the most balanced curriculum I've seen at any school I've been so far.

I like this topic...

My personal Thai-Kwon-Do takes a different approach. Because I cross train in Muay, I have incorporated alot of the training drills, (pyramid sets, half-count sets, full-count sets, etc) into the TKD cirriculum. Poomse, step sparring, full contact sparring is still there.... and coaching! More of a boxer's approach to TKD, adding in that "sweet science".

My TKD is Ch'ang H'on ITF. The Ch'ang H'on (Chon-ji) pattern set, 3, 2, 1 step and free sparring, all requirements as laid out in Gen. Choi's Encyclopedia, plus additional requirements in SD.
