why would females were red instead of green?
Orders from Honbu.
Besides red is nice girly colour. :) They had pink gi for the girls too in the olden days.

haha i was hopeing to get away from the girly image by joing TKD....seriously pink gi's???? and i wear green now lol and i wouldnt want to change to red

My teacher said that traditionally, female judo students wore their right gi lapel over the left, where the males wore theirs left over right. Anyone else hear about this?

Only thing I've heard along those lines is that one direction's considered unlucky in Japan because corpses are prepared with their clothes arranged right over left. (Or something like that.)
