Thanks, Mike. My comments were geared toward the Okinawan Kobudo. They were for the most part developed from farm implements. Sorry to perhaps take the thread off tract. Bo, Sai, Tonfa, Nunchaku, and Kama are the weapons I am familiar with. All are an extention of hand techniques, with strikes and blocks within them. Not to be taken lightly in their pratice, where it takes years to become "one with the weapon". Great thread, thanks.[/quote]
No problem. In a way, while I was talking about the blade specifically, the same could apply to any weapon, such as those that you mentioned.
