We Didn't Start The Fire (homemade video)

This guy spent 25 hours of his time making this compliation of photos to match Billy Joel's #1 hit "We Didn't Start The Fire" ... it's got subtitles if you want 'em and you can pause... if you're fast enough... He's got a good sense of humor too...

Check it out! http://home.uchicago.edu/~yli5/Flash/Fire.html

Did anyone catch the subliminal messages? And why am I suddenly hungry for durian fruit?

That was really cool - the years in the lower left corner that each event happened was a nice touch, too!

In case someone didn't notice the link, these are the messages.

1. Here's an easy one.
2. "Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed." - Alexander Pope
3. "Every man dies. Not every man really lives." - Braveheart
4. "I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying." - Michael Jordan
5. ESPECIALLY if you donate after watching, or at least click the ads =)
6. "Life is understood looking backwards but it must be lived forwards." - Soren Kierkegaard
7. "I am not young enough to know everything" - Oscar Wilde
8. "Always do what you are afraid to do." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

That is one of my favorite songs. I find myself thinking of the things that would be in the more modern verses.

I read those too... though I didn't see them (even after repeated viewing) anywhere in the vid. :idunno: Mebbe I'm not succeptable to them?

Yes, I agree that Joel should update the song to our present day or at least to 9/11 or the gulf wars. Anybody want to write to him and tell him?
