Just a simple question for some of the people who practice koryu. As a person who has practiced kendo, I've noticed we lack in the choice of targets when it comes to attacking body parts. Especially when it comes to "cutting" techniques. I've always wondered if there's like an upward undercut in any of the koryu around. If there is, could you guys tell me what it's generally called, please?

Kiri age and gyaku kesa giri are general names for two common upward cuts. But a lot of ryuha have their own names for these cuts.
