OK, it's a slow day for me, and I've checked out other threads about childhood songs and radio stations, which made me curious to ask people their selections for "Top 5 Rock Songs". I certainly realize this is purely a matter of opinion, so I personally am not looking to debate others selections, just curious what others
think.

My selections:

#1 : All Along The Watchtower (Hendrix)
#2 : Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin)
#3 : Free Bird (Lynard Skynard)
#4 : Layla (Derek & the Dominoes)
#5 : Gimme Shelter (Stones)

Your selection is pretty good. It is hard to argue with any of those songs. Although, they are a bit before my time - and my time is still 'Oldies' by today's standards.

A Man I'll Never Be - Boston - Don't Look Back
People and Places - Journey - Departure
The Wall - Kansas - Leftoverture
Here and Now - Vai - Sex & Religion
Red Barchetta - Rush - Moving Pictures

How about Hendrix' version (the original, I believe) of Little Wing??

Glad to see another Stevie Ray fan.

Hendix is always awsome....but the twist SRV gave Little wing.....

Jimmy would be proud!

I asbsolutly love SRV and would've put him on my list, but I dont call him rock. I would say he's still blues. I also wold've added Marley, but he's reggae.

Hey, I started this thread and I'm a real open-minded guy. SRV and Marley are fine with me!
