The largest invasion from sea in the history of Mankind occurred on this day 65 years ago. Thousands died on the beaches of Normandy, brave warriors who paid the ultimate cost to help bring down NAZI tyranny in Europe. It's a time to reflect upon the tremendous sacrifice made on this day, truly horrific, as most who died died slowly in agony, yet even when they saw their comrades fall, other soldiers took their place, showing courage, bravery, honor. We owe them a lot, and for all the veterans of that day I salute you!

Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword - today is the day we commemorate those men of valour who trod your bloody sands to burst open the door and cleared the path to the liberation of Europe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
