What can you tell me about the tkd gloves (WTF), I want to buy a pair from mooto but never in my life I have using gloves for kyorugi. Are these WTF aprooved gloves good for punching? are they practical? I think yes but I want to know from people who uses them.

Also I saw some kind of paded socks for the feet, they cover the instep and toes what can tell me about them too.

The gloves are Ok at best, I enjoy hitting with the bare knuckles better but that is me. The socks I enjoy more so than the insteps for the simple reason lighter and it feels like you are kicking bare footed instead of being heavy down by those things. Manny I have not used the sensor socks but people say they suck for the most part, are you trying to switch over to them it will feel better in the long run.

I am talking about the instep protectors used on WTF regular comepetition, not the ones used with the electronic hogu.

I want to buy the helmet the regular gloves and the regular instep protectors like these:

I purchased all three of these items within the last year. The helmet is fine. Nothing special, its a helmet. I really like the gloves. If you need to wear protective gear on your hands I think these are the way to go. I am a big fan of the foot/instep protectors as well. You just have to get used to having fabric between your toes. The only problem is they like to rotate around your foot. I only practice recreationally for the time. My story is a lot like yours, Manny. I left TKD years ago and have only been back into it for about a year now. Many that I train with have used this gear in a tournaments and they have nothing but good things to say. They also will hold up in the washing machine just fine. Basically, Manny, I recommend all three of the items you are asking about.

Check out these if you are interested.

Hi and thank you, I do not compete in tournamets, I do sparr inside dojang and as I love to use hands and the hogus we use in the dojang are not cushioned I just want to protect my hands a bit. The instep protectors I want to try ( http://mooto.com.mx/index.php?page=...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=61 ) is just to protect my instep and toes, currently I use a set of shin/instep p`rotecteos by Protec.

I think is worth to buy all the safety equipment by Mooto but I will do it in parts and will star with helmet and gloves, and latter the instep protectors and a new pair of hin protectors and forearms protectosr.

the gloves are worthless in my opinion. No real padding. minimal protection at best. I think it is just more crap you wear that makes you hotter. I picked up a pair because they were/are required. I bought the cheapest ones I could find. I say spend the money where needed... hogu, head, shin.... that really protects you so good equipment is worth it. the gloves.... I think are a false sense of protection. more protection from abrasions than real impact.

The gloves are kind of an awkward thing. The main thing that they seem to work good for (mostly for kids) is encouraging them to throw more punches. I've noticed without gloves many forget hands even exist. With the gloves, people tend to throw a lot more punches - even if most of them are pointless. Overall, the gloves are not really much use. It's almost like they were added as a requirement in order to make some more money on it.. Hmm. I guess I will never know for sure.
