Actually, it looks like he just swallowed a lemon- whole, and trying to fight the pucker- power!
That makes sense—the acid-bolt of the lemon has to find a way out somewhere, so it's firing through his eyes... yes... probably blasts potential victims into immobility, and then.... -vampfeed-
