Terminators are getting closer all the time

Hey,

I just read an article and I need to find the link again, they implanted electrodes into a monkey's brain that controll a prostetic arm, with full range of motion just like a real arm, and the monkey can use it just like his normal arm. The Article said that they will begin using these as replacement limbs for humans who have lost theirs within 2 years, and that soon they hope to use the technology to "repair" spinal cord damage.

So... in say... what... 10 years... is Cybernetic limb replacement going to be an "elective surgery"?

I sure hope so. With this, and the growing of organs and such, we should be able to replace just about everything that fails us. My hope is that they'll figure out how to immortalize my consciousness, so that I can exist forever.

Do you think you'd go crazy if your whole body was prosthetic, and you couldn't feel anything physically?
