Teaching English Overseas

I was just wondering if anyone on here has done the "teaching English overseas" thing? If so what was your experience with it? Where did you go? Would you recommend it?

I have one year left of my University degree and I'm looking for a little more information on this to see if I might be more interested in seriously pursuing this. I love travelling and planned to be a teacher for many years although at the moment I don't think I want to go directly into teachers college here. I have taken several education classes over the last 3 years though.

My brother-in-law went to Japan and loved it. Stayed a year and wanted to go back but couldn't.

An old roommate of mine however did it in an indonesian country and almost had his hand chopped off and was sent home early.

So, I'm not sure what to tell you. Go for it!
