Straightsword or Broadsword?

Which weapon do you prefer more, the Chinese Straightsword or the Chinese Broadsword and why?

I personally havent used either one.

But I prefer the broadsword over the Gim just because I like the flowing movements of the broadsword more. Just a personal preference.

It depends... if I'm doing something that feels terribly flowing & smooth with lots of little things, it's probably a gim thing. If not & I'm feeling like hacking & slashing then it's probably a dao thing.

Personal preference is the gim because of the work required to be proficient, but for ease of ease & expediency in learning, dao.
