george w. is down to a grim 35 per cent in public support. most folks want him to essentially bow out of the political arena. only 2 and 10 folks want him taking a leading role in setting policy.

Sadly, here is Australia the situation is somewhat similar. Our Prime Minister, John Howard (aka Bonsai, because he's a little Bush), is not well liked, mainly for being such a staunch supporter of George W.

Unfortunately the alternatives are not very encouraging either. Our political system is different but it still comes down to a choice between two parties and neither is inspiring. Well we will see what happens, there is an election this year, maybe people will just have had enough to put someone else in regardless of lack of policy or direction.
