Sparring Gear

Adidas and Tekno I would say that is what we recommend. GOD BLESS AMERICA

I don't know the best gear, but my school only uses the red Macho brand. They've used it for years............

I have a Best chestgear from www://sangmoosa.com actually through my instructor. I had gotten one from Century similar, for my husband, but sold that we he quit. It was too low in the front. The one I have is great. The hits' power are dispersed pretty well. It has hip guards and a back guard as well which is important if you like to spin. ;) I can also slip into it with retying. I also have a cage headgear which is MUCH better than wearing a mouthpiece. But it takes some getting used to. Saves on the face. I wear forearm guards and shin instep combo guards. Hated the foot gear so never wear those. But we are required to wear gloves. So that pretty much covers the whole bod.
Need elbow guards though from those round kicks! just kidding. TW

The new hogu I got from John is comfortable, meets the new WTF requirements, and was lots cheaper than Adidas or Tekno.

BTW, John also carries SMAI doboks-the brand worn during the Athens Olympics. The stretch-dobok from SMAI is absolutely the most comfortable dobok I own (much better than Century/Adidas/Tekno)

Head Gear - Macho XP

Chest: (Body Type Specific)
Smaller: Protec
Thinner: Tekno
Regular: Addidas
Fat: None of them fit correctly their primarily sized for height

Arms: Tekno

Groin: Best

Leg: None of them work for me, so I go with what's cheapest.

tekno puts out some pretty good equipment...i wear macho gloves...

the rest of my gear is tekno...they have a few levels...for hogu's i have a tekno hard...which is terrific....the next step up in their line are the Q21's...but there they aren't reversible...if i remember correctly you need to buy both red and blue(they come together) instead of just one reversible...and i don't need that...

the tekno shin and instep pads are superb...they even fit my big legs...i've been looking into getting their forearm guards instead of gloves for competition as well...

P.S. if there are any representatives of tekno on the board...feel free to send me promotion checks or free gear...

Who has the best sparring gear for Tae Kwon Do sparring?

My vote is for Adidas TKD gear. It's somewhat more expensive but for the most part it's a little more durable than some of the other brands I've used for protection to scrap at the dojang and in tourneys...
