Here's to the doctors and their healing work
Here's to the loved ones in their care
Here's to the strangers on the streets tonight
Here's to the lonely everywhere
Here's to the wisdom from the mouths of babes
Here's to the lions in the cage
Here's to the struggles of the silent war
Here's to the closing of the age
Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above
Now let the day begin
Here's to you my little loves with blessings from above
Let the day begin

Hereā€™s a pretty cool song from an Australian punk band called Amyl and the Sniffers - Knifey. Itā€™s a song about women feeling safe, and having to be prepared for violence.

ā€œAll I ever wanted was to walk by the park
All I ever wanted was to walk by the river, see the stars
Please, stop @@@@ing me up
Out comes the night, out comes my knifey
This is how I get home nicely
I turn around and back track because I ain't that tough
But you still @@@@ me up.ā€

A lot of great music coming out of Australia right now. There is some salty language so if you have sensitive ears, you might want to avoid listening. šŸ˜…

Thinking about @Xue Shengā€™s comments about work and things Iā€™ve been thinking about myself have reminded me of this song by one of my all time favorites, Aesop Rock. This is from 2001 on the Labor Days album.

ā€œLook, I've never had a dream in my life
Because a dream is what you wanna do, but still haven't pursuedā€

well for a bit, this morning at work, this was appropriate

I can't tell you how many experts I hesrd talking this morning about things they know nothing about while acting like the do and occasionally convincing others

Seems topical... my favorite Taylor Swift lines:

While he was doing lines and crossing all of mine.
Someone told his white-collar crimes to the FBI.

Bringing this thread back up so folks can share their favorite. And here is a banger. Janelle Monaeā€™s breakout hit. About fame and dealing with criticism

Def Leppard ā€œWomenā€

But there was something that was missing, something lost
So he came with the answer, here's what it cost
One part love, one part wild
One part lady, one part child
I give you
Lots of pretty women

My wife just smiles and rolls her eyes when I crank it up šŸ˜‚

In the spirit of the Bruce Lee is not a God thread, Iā€™m reminded of this classic song from a classic soundtrack:

Pablo Picasso- Burning Sensations

ā€œPablo Picasso was never called an *******.ā€

Heard this the other morning driving to work, while being annoyed I was going to work, and a line in this song got me thinking

Can't cha see there'll come a day when it won't matter
Come a day when you'll be gone

I think it happens when you realize there it probably less time in front of you than behind. But the thoughts were not negative or sad, they were positive.....

A bit of info, I grew up near the City of Boston, when the Band Boston became a hit I was in high school. There were 3 radio station I listened to, WAAF, WCOZ, WBCN and you could drive from Worcester to Boston listening to those three stations and ONLY hear songs by Boston.... that is a 30 to 40 minute drive.

Hear Boston start, change the station and there is more Boston, repeat this the whole time you were driving and all you would hear is the band Boston.... I liked Boston at first, but due to overplay I grew to hate them...I was even on a date one night when the woman I was with was going though the cassettes (I'm old deal with it) in my car and said.. "Oh you have Boston" and handed me the cassette. To which I replied, "No I don't" and threw it out the window. It was not until I was in my early 50s that I could listen to Boston again.... and now.... they are even giving me philosophical thought and helping me with a possible direction as I approach retirement....

A great song with some truly deep meaning in it.

Boston for me was WMEX, WBZ and to a lesser extent 60ā€™s fueled WBCN.

With the amount of reefer smoke rising from Boston at the time Iā€™m surprised I remember any radio stations. Or my name.

Sure was fun tapping your feet to their songs, though.
