Maybe someone here with some experience on this matter can help.
Basically, a friend has a S&W 640 (J-frame, DAO, all-steel) revolver, and wants to lighten up the trigger pull, yet still have it reliable with all common factory defensive loads (such as Speer Gold Dot, etc).
The factory installed rebound spring is 18 lbs, and he has access to a 13, 14, and 15 lb spring.
Does anyone who has done this kind of "surgery," know what would be the minimum weight needed to ensure that the gun could still reliably set off a CCI primer (the hardest out of the big four)?
