To look at needless slaughter with such a personal viewpoint really brings home the futility of conflict as a means of resolving international issues. To read of these relatively few peoples lives hits hard when attempting to imagine the scale of loss that has occurred in such places as Iraq and Afghanistan, let alone the atrocities in the Arican states that we hear so little about.
