In 1987 the Equal Time Doctrine was repealed by our Congress regarding political speech. Before that that date, the media was forced to present both sides. After that date, we saw the rise of the transparently partisan, for example we've got the Rush Limbaughs on one side and the Dan Rathers on the other.
Now, it seems as if we truly have two Americas - a Red America and a Blue America. One America has a version of reality that is vastly different then the other America.... How did we get to this place? Is political truth nothing but an opinion or do facts matter anymore? Do we need to get out of this place or is this polarization just fine?
