In light of some of the comments on this thread.

I thought it might be interesting to see different teachers using the same concepts explained in different ways in their demonstrations. The links point to sites that explain the theories they use to explain their practices

Master Check Fung, Yi Chuan

Master Henry Wang taiji

Master Gao, Zhuang Fei wu style taiji

The practice itself quite common, among teachers who follow / use the
same concepts one of the reason's why the demos tend to look the same.

I don't have issue with the hand push. I have issue with the knee push (1st video). Can the teacher do on an ankle weight (non-life object)?

It should be easy to put a 5 lb ankle weight on your knee and bounce it away.

I'd say no.

Could be wrong..☝️

The concept of what is happening might be misunderstood.
Think of a wave and the medium through which a wave travels.

"Waves primarily transport energy through a medium, not force"

In CMA, a good way to look at what is called "jin" (劲).

Peng Jin (棚劲): Expanding force
An Jin (按劲): Pressing force
Cai Jin (采劲): Plucking force
Lie Jin (裂劲): Splitting force

In one sense, these terms describe physical movements.
In another sense, they describe types of force that can be expressed within movements.
Or without much to no movement.

If one can use his knee to move a 160 lb person, why can't he use his knee to move a 5 lb ankle weight?

@ Kung fu Wang

How would you describe the following as different descriptions of applied force, rather than actions:

Peng Jin (棚劲): Expanding force
An Jin (按劲): Pressing force
Cai Jin (采劲): Plucking force
Lie Jin (裂劲): Splitting force

I'm sorry, but IMHO all they have successfully done is teach their students to fall down and jump on cue. And I am being polite in that response

Is this teacher also teaching his student the same ?

He says if you use force it's not taiji, it's not the kind of force that taiji uses..

Is this true?

Master Gao, Zhuang Fei was one of Master Wang Peisheng disciple's, btw.

Do you really believe the demo at 14.56 and 15.01 are real?

That's a question for you..

Are you confirming what 'Xue Sheng' said?

Master Wang Peisheng, and others are teaching their "students to fall down and jump on cue" ?

@ KF Wang,

The thread is not about what I believe or not..
What is shown aligns with my experience's...

The topic is about similar practices by different teachers producing similar results..
As would be expected, for practices building the same skill sets.

Attacking the teachers or students is the not the topic..

Again, you don't want to answer my question.

I may be able to understand why someone (include you) refuses to answer my question.

If his respond is

- YES, his name will be associated with FAKE for the rest of his life.
- NO, he may establish enemies from the teacher and his students.

But if someone created a video, he should take his own responsibility for all criticizing.

The question has already been answered.
You have a habit of not answering questions

You feel the demos are faked?
Why ?

As to questions
You have a habit of not answering questions .
You do have a habit of not answering questions .

If you ask my opinion, I will tell you I believe it's fake. Now I have answered your question. But you still have not answered my question yet. Do you think it's real or fake?

Also, you still have not answered my question, "Why does the ankle weight need to move? It's just the receiver of the knee force."
