Punch with 5 lb dumbbell

When I did my 4 miles walking/training yesterday, I held my 5 lb dumbbell and did 1,480 punches - jab, cross, hook, uppercut, overhand. It was a great feeling afterward.

Have you ever punched with 5 lb dumbbell weight?

It's so funny that when I pay attention on my arms with dumbbell weight, I totally forget about how far that I have walked and how tired my legs can be.

Have you ever had this kind of experience that you concentrate on one part of your body and totally ignore the rest part of your body?

Today during my 4 miles walking/training, I held my 5 lb dumbbell and punched 2,000 times. I try to keep doing this 3 times a week.

I did the following drill of 20 punches on each arm (40 on both arms) and repeat 10 drills sequence 5 times.

1. Fist eye facing up arm bending.
2. Palm facing down arm bending.
3. Palm facing up arm bending.
4. jab.
5. cross.
6. hook.
7. uppercut.
8. overhand.
9. jab-hook combo.
10. hook-back fist combo.

I've done it in the past. I prefer resistance bands for this type of training though. But it would be kind of hard to do what you did with a resistance band. Egg weights would probably be best for doing this walking and running but they can be pricey.
