profile hardware error

last night my buddy wanted to use the pc to check his email and 5 mins after he got off the pc is said profile hardware error just wondering what that means it went to a black and white screen today everything is working fine

Got any details about the system? OS? Graphics Cards, etc?

how do i find out the os

Does LINUX use hardware profiling? I didn't think so, and that only Windoze still had them around, mostly for Laptops.

Is the device in question a laptop or desktop PC?

i have a pc with windows it is working fine i just dont want to have that profile error again

Could have just been a small glitch....a Ram overload or something....
