OK the gov says he needs to cut education and healthcare and state workers.. oh and replace some of those with MUCH higher paid private workers and times are tough so we all need to take one for the team.
But that does not include him or his immiediate team. He buys a $20,000 caarpet for the mansion and gives his staff huge raises and then turns around and says we need to give the judges raises as well since they have not had any in a long time even though they all make greater than 6 figures a year.
Now here is how layoffs in NYS work folks they NEVER go for the high paid workers that may or may not be doing much. They are likely friends and need to be protected, however the ones that can least afford it the window washers and cleaners will all go and they secretaries and the other support staff but not the ones in the real high up positions like the redundant commissioners in an un-named office that is responsible for teacher certification of the multiple directors assistant directors of a single office in a department.
Is hiring at the state messed up... hell yeah but what is considerably worse is the games played in Albany politics.
Oh and while we’re at it you know if a raise for the legislature comes before the legislature and it passes but yet they all say "I didn't vote for it" well its true, if no one votes it passes.
The gov is asking for things from people that he himself will not do himself or ask for from his staff. As a matter of fact he is doing the exact opposite of what he is asking from the state workers
All I can say is I am generally non-political but the next time there is a race for gov I just may campaign for the other guy.
