When running late for class...

Do not put uniform pants into the oven to dry them...

THEY WILL BURN.

Pray tell, this is *not* from your first hand experience??

How funny. Probably not advisable to microwave uniforms either. I think I would have gone for my blow dryer at least to get the top part dry. It gets all soaked anyway....

Look at it this way, now you get to SHOP! TW

LMAO.Thats pretty funny, i hope you didnt actually once put your pants in the microwave tigerwoman...lol

Ok... here's the story.

I decided about 3 oclock to wash my uniform for class. I wear BDU pants and a Tshirt to class so I threw them in the washer, then the dryer.

I pulled em out of the sryer to discover my dryer was not working. So... I tossed em outside to "line dry" but it wa snt exactly sunny and about 530ish they were still soaked. I needed to leave for class at 6:45... so i tossed em in the microwave.

That did not dry them, but they got hot.

So... I preheated the oven to 475, got out a cookie sheet and placed my BDU's on the cookie sheet. bout 20 minutes later the smoke alarm went off... I rant upostairs, the BDU's were scorched where they were on the cookie sheet and scalding hot and still soaked everwhere else.

Long story short, I went to class in soaking wet scorched BDU pants.

ACK. Ack.

BTW... I dont own a blow dryer.

One of many reasons why we launder our uniforms right after class.

TP - do invest in a blow dryer - excellent for quick fixes like this situation.

note to Techno...don't be so dang lazy about washing your uniform when you get home from class/work/where-ever and having them ready for your early am class... geez dude what WERE you thinking??? lol

Was trying to think of a witty comment, but I'm laughing too hard...

LOL!!

Hehe. Yeah you have a point, eh?

To be honest, I typically only wear those BDUs to class for about 2 hours a day, so I only wash em every other class (or once a week, since class is twice a week) or if I have done heavy sweating in them... I decided on a whim just to go ahead and wash em yesterday, with some of my regular laundry.

You could have tried tying them to your car antennae and driving really fast to your class! I think i saw that on a commercial once. I am such a victim of advertising! Just make sure you're not driving around in your underwear!

Kenpo Mama :ultracool

TP,

You didn't have anything else to wear when you noticed they were burnt? I mean some sweats or something laying around. lol Or did you just have it made up in your mind that that's what you were going to wear no matter what!? Funny. I'll make sure to remember this one.

Note to myself: Save money for extra exercise attire - keep emergency sets in the car.

Techno - remember your Jin Shin tonight, okay? And remember you can hold that middle finger anytime.
