Greetings All,
An acquaintance I met invited me over to train in JKD over at Marina Del Rey.
I never trained like that ever in my life. We did tons of speed drill.
My partner would leave his hand out and I would try to hit it.
My partner would try to grab either shoulder and I had to counter.
My partner would grab my shirt in the center and I had to counter.
Going in and out of different ranges.
This part I did before in FMA training.
We had to react to sound.
We had to react to sight.
I have done drills in other arts where my partner would punch to my face. Or our eyes are close and my partner puts a knife to my throat from any direction.
The JKD training was different. My partner has a close hand and I have to wait until he opens his hands before I can punch. This reminds me of boxing.
The people there were nice and helpful.
