After reading about Fudo Myo-o Acalanatha Statue I decided to order this from ebay, located in nan yang, China. Ordered. Order paid. Order confirmed by seller. Notice of preparation for sending received. Teo days later I get this:
"Hello my friend, sorry, this model is currently out of stock. It will be available in 10-20 days and I will contact you."

First: I don't understand why people advertise stuff for sale when they don't have it. I know it is a common practice. Maybe they hope to get it before it sells. Hope the customer over looks this and buys after a prolonged wait. Maybe it is an inventory accounting error. Etc.

Second: I think this is an indication that the item is in plentiful supply. Which means it is probably currently in production and not very old. Or, was very common at one time and many are still available even if out of production currently. In either case case item does not posses great economic value.

Third: I am not angry, disappointed yes. Patience is not my long suit. But, I am working on it. Every dog has his day. Perhaps I will enjoy it more for the wait.
Those angry warrior statues -

Anger. Control your anger. If you hold anger toward others, they have control over you.Your opponent can dominate and defeat you if you allow him to get you irritated”
Miyamoto Musashi

Have a good day, whats left of it where you live.

I was referring to my self to not get angry over my issues with the seller. I think anger is an expression of selfishness on ones part. Normally, not a productive emotion. Anger frequently makes thing worse, rarely better.

Actually it wasn't me who used the term "Angry Warriors." It was a quote from someone else.

But the concept that Gods don't angry is new to me, if that was what you were saying. Interesting.....

Nanyang is a city of long history famous for its commerce and manufacturing, your order is in good hands 😊

my small wooden statue of Fudo Myo-o got cancelled. The seller first he was our. then explained that the one he was selling turned out to be damaged but he would have another in a week or so. And then yesterday the order was cancelled and money refunded.

And so ends another day in the life of a fool.

I understand you ordered the Fudo-Myo from China? While about everything is fixable here sometimes it proves otherwise and your Fudo figurine seemingly such a case.

Anyway, Fudo-myo is very much a Japanese Buddhist thing, and you’re into Japanese MA’s, you could instead order from Japan and so also get a more authentic feel to your figurine that will then shine an true aura of Japan to your dojo or wherever you wish it displayed 😊

There are many Fudo Myoō available on Ebay/Etsy at a wide range of prices. Take some time to trawl those sites and you’ll find something you like.

The one I purchased was from nan yang, China, at least the seller identified as that location. I have since received 7-8 unsolicited offers.

Search of ebay turned up almost 500 items for sale. All that I checked were located in China.

I added several to my watch list. I will wait and see if more offers come in.

Thanks.

Indian, actually. The Sanskrit name of Fudo Myo is "Acala" and it goes back to Vajrayana Buddhism, about 1,000 years.

He's first referenced in a Chinese text around 700AD which is the description that some of the more legit Fudo figures are based on (half lotus seated, sword in one hand, noose in the other).
