Motivated by Anger?

LOL, not being political, just stating the obvious....4$ a gallon - if you can get some sure hits home...especially if it fuels the anger (a helpless one I might add) and keeps you from the Dojang to resolve it.

And no, I am not going to 'The Study' that will only get me more mad. I really don't need to risk a spontanious combustion... :D

Best not to get mad at things you can't change anyway. Like punching the wind it is wasted energy.

I'm going to disagree in part...it's OK to get angry. It's a normal emotion. Trying to avoid getting angry is a losing proposition. However, it is not good to HOLD ON to anger...that's where damage occurs.

So, get angry...then let it go. Getting gouged for gas after a hurricane sucks. the people doing that are despicable. BUT, if there's little you can do about it...stewung over it isn't helping your situation. let it go. Punch the bag, do wind sprints, meditate...whatever it takes. Don't feel bad about getting mad...but don't let the anger rule your life. Let it run it's courtse and let it go.

The same can be said for most emotions.

Peace,
Erik

Well, I am sitting here on the computer, 2AM, and I can't sleep. I have the urge to punch something, or run like crazy. However, that is not an option, sleeping family and safety wise.

Anybody ever got motivated to work out by anger? I remember one time it carried into the work out (usually it just dropped at the door to the dojang...but it only lasted the first set of combinations, then it had to yield to concentration) or this one kid I actually kinda liked but his attitude in sparring infuriated me I only wanted to kill him once the pads went on.

Hormones be cursed, they are no real help in situations like that. Oh, it's just a accumulation of trivial matters that has me riled up. Nothing serious. Even more embarrassing, no?
Anger motivates me all the time but like you, i sometimes have to yield to concentration as well.
