Hey, has anybody read Matt Fureys "Combat Conditioning" book yet?

It is a good read and I recomend it for people who are serious about their MA training.

Matt Furey's stuff throws a lot of people off, generally the same stuff is available in other places for free and his marketing style makes used car salesmen blush...

trainforstrength.com is a great bodyweight excercise site to look at if that's the sort of thing you are after.

I agree as well. I bought the book read the book and then discoverd I was shown much of thsi many years before (20) in Jujitsu.

But I have to admit, Furey is a very good salesman.

And how can you go wrong with a guy that put out a tape on the moves George W Bush should use to beat Saddam in a fight?

(No, sadly I am not joking, he did)

Can someone recommend other sources besides Matt Furey. I just got off his mailing list. Matt's e-mail's are total in-yer-face hard sell.
Matt's ideas helped me to form the basis of my morning exercises. My personal morning program includes mostly dynamic stretching/breathing exercises. How does Scott Sonnen compare?
I'm also about to start adding in slow kicking/punching/ground-standing/standing to ground transitions and ground positions/transitions. The PM workout is at my school(dojo) or weights at the gym and stretching
I'm currently in transition from my current out-of-shape but former competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter. My early foundation includes a green belt in Tae Kwon Do and boxing at the local PBC (Police Boys Club).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated by this newbie. Thank you in advance.

If you were what you said, try yourself! You obviously have just as much experience as the authors, you know your body and self better than they would, and even with their stuff, you still have to go out, motivate yourself, and do it!

Lmao, did he?

Haha, what and ***.

I've use his stuff and its good. Furey doesn't say he has coem up with anything new. Just the opposite. His approach seems to be, this is stuff that's tried and true because its been around so long.
It is expensive, but that's what e-bay is for.

or a ton of free sites offering the same stuff, if not better...

How much did he want for the Farmer Burns course that is available free?

I just looked it up on his website. Right now he is selling the course as a book for $35.00, which is cheap as far as Furey's stuff goes. Now in comparison with free, its not such a great deal, so it all depends on how one looks at it.

I know people have burned copies off Limewire!

That is where I got most of my copies from, but you have to scan the books before you read as it may contain a virus.
