Koshiki
Brown Belt
Good golly. What isn't a debate?
-front kick supporting foot toes forward or angled
-round kicks with instep, shin, or ball of the foot
-high kicks look good, low kicks work good, or kicking above the knee is a useful technique
-spine should remain vertical, or spine should lean and swerve and flow as demanded by the situation
-bounce during tappy-tappy sparring or remain still
If it's in anyway related to the martial arts, it's a debate. Once a year, for three days, a bunch of area schools meet up and camp out and share techniques, theories, drills, whatever with each other. We don't really debate, per se, but Man-oh-man, if you want to see some differing opinions on what is effective, get 15+ heads of schools from 15+ different styles to camp out for a weekend and teach each others students! There's a LOT of debate material out there...
