I have to say that I quite enjoy watching that clip. I think it's because the participants have gone out of their way to make it focus on the techniques and create the 'interest' for the merely curious by small varying interations of a technique rather than 'fancying it up' into an overly elaborate stage-fight.
The period dress and atmospheric location helps with the dramatics of course but it's the swordwork that's the star.
