The door is open for Scott Lighty to get a bigger spotlight tonight but if his fight against Antwain Britt doesn't make the Showtime telecast, he's not going to flip out. It's all part of his patient approach. Lighty fought in K-1 throughout his 20's but the schedule got lighter and lighter so he decided to make the transition over to mixed martial arts. Even with 42 pro kickboxing matches, Lighty, 31, chose to take a year off and really hone his skills.

It worked for the light heavyweight. It's all been a success since he's stepped between the MMA ropes. He fought back in August and destroyed Mike Cook with a body shot. Tonight is a big test in Britt, a well-rounded fighter, who made an appearance on season eight of "The Ultimate Fighter." Britt (11-3) beat Ryan Jimmo but broke his hand in the fight and was replaced in the cast by Eliot Marshall, who's gone 3-0 thus far in the UFC.
