I have an affinity for knots, but in a more twisted, paraphilia-type fasion. :idunno: I can do some pretty cool ties, though. lol

Oh Tess, you knotty woman! (sorry, it was there, I had to use it) Try these with sewing thread and a magnifier - this is also how tatting is done and tatted lace is made.

Don't they shoot people for puns like that? :)

I was pretty bad with knots as a Boy Scout...tying them, at least. I could always untie the gnarliest knot. Yet somehow, I knew how to make a noose without ever being shown how.

Weird.

Okay...we'll let this one slide. But if it happens again, you'll be forced to watch every episode of Knight Rider, back to back.

I myself enjoy tying a good knot. And I am always looking for new Vollunteers.

*whistles innocently*

Ahem.

Would be nice to make but nobody would want to eat it. For one, it looks like the scariest thing ever (at least that one does anyway). And you put so much work into it it seems like destroying a piece of art to just eat it.

That is so cool! I served four years as a volunteer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and took hundreds of hours of classes on seamanship, search and rescue, navigation, etc. Here are some flash presentations that give highlights of many of these courses. (scroll down). Seamanship presentation has some knots as well. Nothing fancy, IIRC, just the bowline, square, clove, beckett, etc :

BTW, the seamanship course uses "Chapman's Piloting", which as a sailor, I am SURE you are familiar with.

I think some of these space related adventures looks like fun. When I was a wee little boy I always though I'd grow up to be an Astronaut. Little did I know.
