This is a long thin scroll, with the Name of the Dojo in Gyousho or Semi-cursive style Japanese Calligraphy. I think the cloth is beautiful, and that is why I took a closeup of the cloth. It is styled with a deep gold on gold karakusa Ichimonji that transitions well into the green kireji. It is completed with a black lacquer wood jikusaki and a Takuboku design kake/makihimo.

Dimensions as follows:

I believe the person who ordered it lived in Indiana, but it was shipped to the Chicago Metro area...

I've visited a Kiku Matsu Dojo in Chicago before and it's a beautiful, very peaceful looking dojo. If that's where it's headed your scroll should look great there.

Is the dojo in Chicago one of the best you've seen ?

I haven't been to many aikido dojos but it's understated and has a very calm atmosphere. If I was a decorating man I'd say it was simple but elegant.
