Imagine holding up a playing card for someone else to see...this is the "grip" with which you hold the other finger, first with the thumb on the back (knuckle side) of the hand, the second time, just flip your holded hand over (palm side up) and the thumb is on the palm side (same grip, just your holded hand turns over).
