Howard Dean's rhetoric

2nd Black Belt
"The Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people. They're a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same, and they all look the same."

"It's pretty much a white, Christian party,"

"Republicans are mean. They're not nice people."

"a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Now I am not a Democrat or a Republican, but I readily admit that I lean towards the conservative side when it comes to politics.

What I am wondering is if there are any Democrats who think that this guy is actually good for the Democratic Party? Personally I think the guy is a nut. I think he is doing more to help Republicans than he is to help Democrats.

Well, except the last one, but unless you have been living under a rock for the past couple years I am sure you have heard it about a thousand times.

My friends in the state house say his bedside manner as governor was non-existant. He had a terrible rapport with the legislature. Those that think he is pro marijuana had better think again. He was rabidly anti marijuana. A phsychiatrist friend of mine with MS convinced him that medical marijuana was OK. I read the letter he wrote to her. A very dictatorial personality in my opinion.

I'd rather look at the guy's politics and full writings rather than a few selected soundbites to judge whether he's good for the Democratic party. You know, context and all...

I would venture to guess that you are not your average voter then. What the vast majority of the voting public sees is his public persona, not the essays that he writes. He may very well have great political ideas, but IMO they are all kind of moot points if people think he is a kook.

Wrong or right, most people don't go through the trouble of doing extensive research to find out about polititions. They see what is on TV and read what is in newspapers.

I haven't really heard much about the Republicans as of late, but I have been hearing a lot about Dean. Now, maybe any press is good press, I don't know. What I did hear last night on the news, is that the Rebulican party has raised about double the money this year of the democratic party, and that the democratic contributions are way down.

Seeing as how Dean's job is basically to make money for the democrats, that doesn't really look good.

There also seem to be more than just radical Repiblicans who are not too happy with Dean's comments as of late...

On the one hand, he's right: the Republican party membership is 81% white Christians.

On the other hand, the Democrat party is something like 60% white Christians, as is 68% of the country's entire population; it's pretty much a white Christian nation......

Good point.

no no. the republicans are the only ones who do this. the democrats, you see, will tell you that THEY have all the facts, because they are SMRT.

If you're a conservative, rejoice, because this guy isn't selling anything to the average American. He's only a cheerleader for the radical fringe left. He's the Pat Buchannan of the democratic party, and he's only guarantee to sabotage any candidacy he takes a big hand in.

If you're a moderate liberal who wants to see a moderate democrat win the white house, you should be angry with this guy. America told the democratic party during the last two elections it wasn't elected anyone who looked far leftwing, and what does the democratic party learn from this all? That it has to move FURTHER left?! Come on, guys, get with the program.
