saw this posted on another forum; figured I'd share it here.

The video mentions how the main actor and actress each trained for years to portray their parts. Holy cow. Can you imagine American hollywoods training for that long? I doubt it. I also heard that Tony Leung broke his arm twice during his trainup for this... Hope they get paid well!!!

That's a visually stunning film in my opinion.

As for training, it's hard to train for years just for a film role. The economics don't usually support that kind of thing. As for American Hollywood training, I know Uma Thurman, Vivica A. Fox and Darryl Hannah trained their butts off for three months, eight hours a day. Not much by our Martial Arts standards, of course, but a lot by acting standards considering all the other things they need to do.

As for pay, yup, they make a good wage, at least members of the Screen Actors Guild do. Not sure about any other country.
