The other night I went to dojang and saw the kids doing sparring (WTF), all the kids but one (Roberto) used almost kicks and no bloking and some get kicked in the face. It was very nice to see Roberto doing good kicks and very solid punches to the hogu.
Roberto is a kid (16 I guess) that put all his might in the class, he is not a flashy kicker but he can kick hard and in short distance always use his fists, he has developed good punches. When I sparr him I like not to chase him but counter him (the cat vs mouse play) and last time we did sparring he caught me with a roundhouse kick to the face.
I think Roberto is one of the best black belts we have in dojang, he is very dedicated and trains hard, he deserves all my respect.
