GM prepares for the end.

Ive always thought that a nations economy being so dependent on one industry was foolish and dangerous. The writing has been on the wall for US automakers for years. Instead of doing something about it all they do is ask for bailouts.
 
Unions were necessary initially, but they have grown too powerful and the pendulum needs to swing back.

The same union workers who build forty-thousand dollar rolling couches could easily be building the other cars that consumers want and are buying from Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai and Kia.

Deja vu: I also cannot help but believe that the golden parachute cheques were signed and sealed before the auto makers cried, "Bailout."
