-Please excuse, move, or delete this post if necessary, but I follow Cynthia Rothrock online with Facebook, and she posted that she had heard GM Demura had passed away. Off to the Google I went to confirm this and found nothing to imply that he had indeed passed. Few hours go by and the Wikipedia page for him has been updated with his passing but I'm still not seeing anything to collaborate this information. Anybody seen anything?

Thanks.

Andrew

I've also seen it posted in a few places. There may not be much, because, while he was a major figure in the martial arts, he wasn't so important in other spheres.

I haven’t seen a great source on this yet but enough people are saying it that it seems to be true:

Demura Sensei was one of the early karate pioneers in Southern California and a friend of my sensei. His karate and kobudo was more than excellent - "superb" would be an accurate description of his MA skills. I was honored to have met and watch him at the height of his skills. More than that, he served as a bridge between old traditional and karate awareness in America. One of the Greats.

This news source has reported it.
For what it may be worth, that web site seems to the origin of all the news reports, and that web site is known to be a 'fake news' site; purely made-up in many cases. I'm not sure what to make of all these reports. You'd think there would be more legit news sources reporting it.

Well, there is nothing on his webpage either..... I guess we have to wait to see if there is official confirmation one way or the other
My post may have been premature...

I've seen an announcement from Black Belt magazine, and others, as well. At this point, I believe it's credible.

Do you have a link? The only thing I can find on BB's webpage is an article on Master Demura's 75 years active.
