For myself, I have been doing the same role for more than fifteen years now. More and more responsibility and less and less pay in real terms have made me realise that loyalty to your company and hard, diligent, work gets you nowhere any more. Until we achieve a work place wherein those with the talent get the rewards, rather than rising to the level of their incompetence, we are on a doomed road.
