The WEKAF organization (World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation) is currently one of the largest organizations representing the Filipino martial Arts, with members in over 30 countries. WEKAF is open to ALL Filipino Martial Arts Styles and welcomes the diversity and cultural significance of all the various styles.
WEKAF USA, is the non-profit organization chartered by WEKAF International to represent and promote its' objective in the U.S.: "Unifying and fostering growth in All Styles of Filipino martial Arts through education, demonstrations, seminars and competition". The current USA Director, as recognized by WEKAF at their Congress in Cebu, 2008, is Gabe Rafael, from San Francisco, Ca.
WEKAF USA holds six regional and one national tournament every two years. The 1st and 2nd place winners at the National Tournament qualify to be part of the U.S. national team at the bi-annual WEKAF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. qualifying competitions will start in the fall of 2009, with nationals in February / March 2010, and the world Championships following in August, 2010.
