The ginunting travels at least a speed of 1000 ft pds /second.
The legend of Ginunting brings back the time that Guerilla tactics was the favorite strategies of the Filipino Guillereros ( a method of fighting otherwisw known as the hit and run tactics). A filipino Katipunero will hide along the banana tree almost the same size of the banana tree very hard to distinguish while passing along the side of the banana tree with sudden release of the Ginunting, the foot patrol sudden drop to the ground not knowing waht hit him at that particular moment . The decievng attack was convenient for the Ginunting to land into the neck of the passersby because of the configuaration that the ginunting was designed. It is so sharp that by dropping the ginunting into the arms or neck area it can continually non stop until it reaches to the other of the body finding no obstacle even the bones cannot stop the sharpness of the Ginunting.
It won many major wars in the Philippines, It won many encounters even among the civilians. My grandfather owned beautiful ginunting wildly design with the purpose only for combat. It was razor sharp that it can cut the hair like a scissor.
Today the Ginunting maintains its glatering image as it travels to the hinterlands of Mindanao more it is the official blades of the Philippine Marine Corps. The daily encounters by the Philippine Marines against the Moros in Mindanao is something to rekon with because it recreated a history of what was in the past as it is used today.
Many stories can be told about the Ginunting as a weapon of bloody history but what is real is what take hold in our hands.
